Applies to: Dubber Canada portal · Account and Group settings Effective: November 1, 2026
Overview
Several Canadian provinces have ended seasonal clock changes in 2026 and now stay on daylight time all year. To keep your recordings stamped with the right local time, we've added three new time zone options to the Canada portal:
| Time zone option | Region | Offset (all year) |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific Time (Canada) | British Columbia | UTC-7 |
| Alberta | Alberta | UTC-6 |
| Manitoba | Manitoba | UTC-5 |
These zones don't change in spring or autumn, so your recording times stay correct all year round.
Why this matters
Until now, Canadian accounts used shared North American time zones such as "Pacific Time (US & Canada)" or "Mountain Time (US & Canada)". Those zones still move their clocks back in November. For provinces that no longer do this, recording times would show one hour off from November 1, 2026, through the winter months.
The new options fix this by matching the time your province actually keeps.
What's new
- New time zone choices on the Account settings screen and the Group settings screen.
- Correct recording times all year. Recording start and end times show in your province's permanent offset, with no seasonal shift.
- Consistent across the platform. The new time zones work the same way in the portal, in reporting, and through the API.
Who is affected
You're affected if your account or any of your groups is based in:
- British Columbia: use Pacific Time (Canada)
- Alberta: use Alberta
- Manitoba: use Manitoba
- Northwest Territories: use Alberta (UTC-6)
If you're in another province, or outside Canada, nothing changes for you. Existing time zones such as "Pacific Time (US & Canada)", "Mountain Time (US & Canada)", and "Central Time (US & Canada)" keep working exactly as they did before.

Frequently asked questions
When will the new timezones be available to select in the Dubber portal? The new timezones are expected to be available from 06:00 28th Oct 2026 UTC
Will my existing recordings change? Recording times are shown using your current time zone setting. Once your account uses the new time zone, recordings show the correct local time for your province.
I'm in Saskatchewan. Do I need to change anything? No. Saskatchewan has stayed on the same time all year for a long time, and your current setting will keep working as it does now.
I'm in British Columbia but my account still shows "Pacific Time (US & Canada)". Is that a problem? From November 1, 2026, recording times under that setting will show one hour behind your local time during winter. Switch to Pacific Time (Canada) to fix it.
Does this affect the API? Yes, in a good way. The API accepts and returns the new time zone values ("Pacific Time (Canada)", "Alberta", "Manitoba"). If your integration sets or reads account or group time zones, make sure it can handle these new values.
What about accounts in the US? Nothing changes. US time zones work exactly as before.
