Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enhances the security of the Dubber platform by requiring users to provide an additional verification step beyond their username and password. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for enabling MFA using an authenticator app.
Prerequisites
- A user is provisioned to an account on the Dubber platform.
- An authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) installed on a mobile device.
Enabling MFA
Step 1: Make a request to Dubber Support to enable MFA on your account:
- Raise a Dubber support request with the title: Enable MFA. Note only an administrator can request MFA to be enabled.
- Confirm the account/s required to be enabled for MFA within the ticket description and submit
- Once enabled, all users in the account who login via a Dubber Username/Password will then follow the journey outlined in step 2 below
Note 1: If your account is set up for Single Sign-On (SSO) and SSO is not required for all users (i.e not forced for all users in the account), then those users who can log in with either a username/password or SSO will be prompted to set up One-Time Password (OTP) on their first login after Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled. After the initial setup, users logging in via SSO will not be asked to enter an OTP. Only those logging in with a username/password will be prompted for OTP.
Note 2: In future releases, Dubber will allow Admin users to log into their account/s, navigate to account settings, and enable or disable MFA directly from the platform—eliminating the need to submit a support ticket.
Step 2: First time login post MFA set-up:
- Upon first login after MFA is enabled for the account, a QR code will be generated for MFA setup
- Open your authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Select Add Account or Scan QR Code.
- Scan the QR code displayed on the platform.
Step 3: Enter Verification Code:
- After scanning, your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
- Enter this code in the platform’s verification field and click Verify.
- If the code is correct, MFA will be successfully enabled.
Logging in with MFA:
- Enter your username and password as usual.
- When prompted, open your authenticator app and retrieve the latest 6-digit code.
- Enter the code on the platform’s MFA screen to complete the login process.
Recovering Access:
If you lose access to your authenticator app:
- Contact customer support for OTP reset
Disabling MFA:
- Raise a support request with the Title: Disable MFA. Note only an administrator can request to disable MFA.
- Dubber Admin will remove MFA from the account setting and disable OTP for all users in the account
Note: In future releases, Dubber will allow admin users to log into their accounts, navigate to account settings, and disable MFA directly from the platform - eliminating the need to submit a support ticket.
Enabling MFA adds an extra layer of security to protect your account from unauthorized access. It is strongly recommended to ensure your authenticator app is accessible at all times.

Important Note
Once MFA is enabled, all users on the account will be required to use MFA to access Dubber unless users are configured to only use SSO.
